The best Jimo alternatives for 2026 (when Jimo's pricing is too high)

8 best Jimo alternatives compared on price

TL;DR

  • Jimo sells one self-serve plan: Adoption Suite at $429/mo billed annually for 2,000 MAU, with no smaller tier. A 500-user app pays the same $429 (pricing as of September 2026).
  • Best for small teams: Product Fruits. Tours, checklists, hints, a changelog, surveys and Elvin AI from $111/mo (annual billing, 1,500 MAU).
  • Cheapest option: Produktly from €19/mo.
  • Most analytics: Userpilot.
  • Stay with Jimo if you're above 3,000 MAU and need more than 100 tours or 10 editor seats.
  • Before you switch: Jimo documents no export for tours or experiences, so plan to rebuild them.

Jimo's product isn't the problem. It holds 4.6 on G2 from 39 reviews, and 13 of them praise the support team. What pushes teams to look elsewhere is the price floor.

Jimo is an AI-powered product adoption platform from Paris: tours, checklists, hints, banners, a changelog, a resource center, surveys and an AI agent. It now sells all of that as one Adoption Suite plan with a 2,000 MAU floor. If your app has 500 active users, you pay for 2,000.

Below are eight alternatives grouped by what you need, and where Jimo is still the better buy.

‍

What does Jimo cost in 2026?

Jimo sells one self-serve plan, plus Enterprise and an AI add-on. Prices below come from Jimo's pricing page as of September 2026.

‍

PlanPriceMAUIncludes
Adoption SuiteFrom $429/mo (annual billing)2,000 includedUnlimited content and seats
EnterpriseCustom100,000+Adds SSO/SAML
Adoption Agent (add-on)$79/mo (annual billing)No MAU charge200 AI agent requests

‍

Each extra 1,000 MAU adds $24/mo up to 10,000 MAU, so 3,000 MAU costs $453/mo and 10,000 MAU costs $621/mo. There's no plan under 2,000 MAU.

For comparison, Product Fruits Pro, the closest match on content and seats, costs $224/mo at 3,000 MAU, and Starter costs $149/mo (both billed annually).

‍

Why do teams look for a Jimo alternative?

Because of the price structure, not the product. Jimo has no plan under 2,000 MAU, and its only plan bundles unlimited seats and unlimited content. A five-person product team with 500 users pays for all of it: $429/month billed annually, against $111 on Product Fruits Starter.

The product itself holds up. Jimo averages 4.6 on G2 from 39 reviews, and 13 of them praise the support team. Complaints are few. The most common is setup and targeting complexity (7 reviews), then bugs and UI navigation (4 each). If one of those is your daily pain, it's a second reason to switch. On its own, it isn't the first.

The 8 best Jimo alternatives, grouped by what you need

For an SMB team, the best Jimo alternative is the one that doesn't make you pay $429/mo to start with. Most of these start well below Jimo's floor.

1. Product Fruits: best value

Price: $111/month billed annually at 1,500 MAU with 3 seats, $149 at 3,000 MAU. G2: 4.7. Covers: tours, checklists, hints, announcements, newsfeed, feedback, surveys, knowledge base, AI assistant. Free trial: 14 days.

Full disclosure: this is our product. I put it first for small teams because the numbers put it there. A 500-user team pays $111 on Starter against $429 on Jimo, 3.9 times less. Even at 3,000 MAU, Starter ($149) costs less than Jimo's $453.

If your Jimo setup is a handful of tours and checklists, Product Fruits Starter covers it: 15 tours, 50 hints, 2 checklists and 3 seats, plus announcements, newsfeed, help center, knowledge base and Elvin AI. Pro adds branching Flows, 100 tours, unlimited checklists, Custom Events and 10 seats, and it's the tier to compare with Jimo if you need more content or editors.

On trust: Product Fruits is a European vendor with ISO 27001, SOC 2 and GDPR compliance. SAML SSO is on Business, while Jimo keeps SSO for Enterprise at 100,000+ MAU.

The catch: if deep product analytics is the main thing you're buying, look at Userpilot instead. There's no native mobile SDK either.

‍

2. HelpHero: cheapest MAU-based tours tool

Price: $55/month at 1,000 MAU. G2: 4.9 (from only 18 reviews). Free trial: 14 days.

HelpHero is the lowest bill on this list if all you need is product tours and basic checklists. If you use Jimo's surveys, changelog or resource center, look elsewhere.

HelpHero pricing

‍

3. Produktly: usage-based pricing

Price: €19/month at 2,000 triggers. G2: 4.5 (from only 3 reviews). Free trial: 14 days.

Produktly doesn't bill by MAU at all. It bills by triggers, and tour starts, checklist steps and changelog reads all consume them. That's good news for an app with many users who rarely need guidance, and bad news for one with a heavy onboarding sequence.

Produktly pricing

‍

4. UserGuiding: simple onboarding for startups

Price: $174/month billed annually at 2,000 MAU. G2: 4.7. Free trial: 14 days.

A no-code onboarding tool that covers the essentials: tours, checklists and tooltips, with an easy editor. The Starter plan is tight, though: one active checklist, one survey, one banner and one seat. Higher limits mean the $349/mo Growth plan. There's a side-by-side on our UserGuiding alternative page.

‍

5. Userflow: developer-friendly

Price: $400/month billed annually ($500 monthly) for 1,000 MAU, then $30 per extra 1,000. G2: 4.8. Free trial: 14 days.

A fast builder with strong theming, unlimited seats and an API-first approach that suits teams with developers close by. The base price covers only 1,000 MAU, so model the cost at your real user count before you compare it with Jimo. More in our Product Fruits vs Userflow comparison.

Userflow pricing

‍

6. Userpilot: most analytics

Price: $299/month billed annually up to 2,000 MAU. G2: 4.6.

Userpilot pairs onboarding with product analytics, the one area where both Jimo and Product Fruits reviewers ask for more. The deeper analytics sit on the Growth plan, from $849/mo, and you hit it as soon as you pass 2,000 MAU. If you already run an analytics platform, you may end up paying twice.

Userpilot pricing

‍

7. Chameleon: design control

Price: $279/month for 2,000 MTU and 10 live experiences. G2: 4.4. Free trial: 14 days.

Chameleon is the pick for teams that want fine design control and precise targeting. The catch is the experience cap: past 10 live experiences you move to Pro at $750/mo, and unlimited experiences only come with Growth at $1,250/mo billed annually. I covered the pricing tiers in our Chameleon alternatives guide.

Chameleon pricing

‍

8. Appcues: established and sales-led

Price: quote only, historically around $500/mo. The Start plan covers up to 3,000 MAU with 10 experiences. G2: 4.6.

One of the older names in onboarding, with a polished builder and a mature feature set. You can't self-serve your way in, and the entry plan caps published experiences, so it's hard to compare on the one axis that brought you here.

‍

Are there free Jimo alternatives?

None of the tools above has a free plan, and Jimo doesn't either. If the budget really is zero, open-source is the only route.

Open-source libraries such as Shepherd.js and Intro.js, or a self-hosted tool like Usertour, cost nothing to license for many uses (check each project's license terms for commercial use). The catch is that your developers build, style and maintain every tour. For teams without spare engineering time, a low-cost paid tool usually ends up cheaper.

‍

What replaces Jimo's changelog and feedback widget?

Jimo's Suite bundles a changelog, a resource center and a feedback widget, so check that your replacement covers those jobs too, not only tours. In Product Fruits, the changelog is the Newsfeed, feedback goes through the Feedback widget, and Surveys and NPS handle structured feedback. Produktly also has a changelog, but every read counts as a trigger.

‍

How do you migrate from Jimo?

Plan to rebuild your content. As of September 2026, Jimo's help docs list exports for users (CSV or JSON) and survey responses only, with no export for tours or experiences. Imports cover users via CSV.

The order I'd follow:

  1. Export what you can. Pull your users and survey responses out of Jimo.
  2. Screenshot every live experience. Capture the content, the targeting rules and the trigger for each one. That's your rebuild spec.
  3. Keep Jimo running until the rebuild is live. Treat your renewal date as the deadline, not the start.
  4. Rebuild the highest-traffic content first. Your main onboarding path and top checklist matter more than a tooltip on a settings page.
  5. Swap the snippet. Remove Jimo, install the new one, and test with a real user account.
  6. Re-check MAU on real data. Watch a full month before you pick your long-term tier.

‍

When is Jimo still the right choice?

Jimo is still the better buy for teams above about 3,000 MAU that need unlimited everything. If you need unlimited content and many editor seats, Product Fruits Business costs more than Jimo: $524 vs $453 at 3,000 MAU, and $974 vs $621 at 10,000. At that point I'd stay on Jimo unless you need flows and advanced adaptive onboarding.

Three more cases where I'd stay:

  • Support matters most to you. 13 of Jimo's 39 G2 reviews praise support, and Ease of Use and Exceptional Customer Support are its top G2 themes.
  • You only want the AI agent. Jimo's Adoption Agent is sold on its own at $79/month billed annually, with no MAU charge.
  • You rely on A/B testing and goal tracking. Both are in Jimo's Suite. Confirm the equivalent in any tool you shortlist before you move.

‍

How to choose a Jimo alternative

  • Fast setup, no developer time: Product Fruits Starter.
  • Cheapest MAU-based tool: HelpHero.
  • Lowest bill: Produktly.
  • Product analytics is the main use case: Userpilot.
  • Unlimited content and seats: stay on Jimo.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jimo too expensive?

For small teams, yes. As of September 2026, Jimo's only self-serve plan costs $429/month billed annually and includes 2,000 MAU, with no smaller tier, so a 500-user app pays for 2,000. Reviewers don't complain about quality. The issue is the pricing structure, not the product.

How much does Jimo cost in 2026?

Jimo's Adoption Suite costs $429/month billed annually ($536 monthly) for 2,000 MAU. Extra MAU costs $24 per 1,000 up to 10,000, so you pay $453 at 3,000, $501 at 5,000 and $621 at 10,000 MAU. Older Starter and Growth prices ($299, $549) still circulate online but no longer match Jimo's pricing page.

How does Jimo count MAU, and what happens if I go over?

Jimo counts a unique user who loads your app with Jimo installed, once per calendar month. Anonymous users are recounted per device or after clearing cookies. Jimo's help doc says the content won't load for users beyond the MAU cap.

What is the best Jimo alternative for small teams?

Product Fruits is the best Jimo alternative for small teams and small businesses. Starter costs $111/month billed annually at 1,500 MAU with 3 seats, against Jimo's $429 minimum for 2,000 MAU. It covers tours, checklists, hints, Newsfeed, feedback, surveys, help center and Elvin AI. If you only need tours, HelpHero is cheaper.

What are the most affordable Jimo alternatives?

The cheapest paid options are Produktly (from €19/month), HelpHero ($55/month at 1,000 MAU) and Product Fruits Starter ($111/month billed annually at 1,500 MAU). UserGuiding starts at $174/month billed annually for 2,000 MAU. Jimo starts at $429/month billed annually.

Is there a free Jimo alternative?

Not a full-featured one. Shepherd.js and Driver.js are open-source tour libraries with no license fee, but a developer has to build and maintain every tour. I'd rather pay for an entry tier than spend developer time on tours.

How do I migrate from Jimo? Can I export my Jimo data?

You can export users (CSV or JSON) and survey responses from Jimo, but its help docs list no export for tours or experiences, so plan to rebuild them. Screenshot each experience's content and targeting, keep Jimo live until the rebuild is done, rebuild your highest-traffic content first, then swap the snippet and re-check MAU for a month.

Jimo vs Product Fruits: which is cheaper?

Product Fruits is cheaper on Starter and Pro. Pro costs $224 vs Jimo's $453 at 3,000 MAU, and $412 vs $621 at 10,000. Product Fruits Business costs more than Jimo from about 3,000 MAU up ($974 vs $621 at 10,000), so teams that need unlimited content and 40 seats may be better off on Jimo.

‍

The bottom line

Jimo didn't get worse. It got a price floor. If your app has fewer than 2,000 monthly active users, you're paying for users you don't have. At 1,500 MAU, Product Fruits Starter costs 26% of Jimo's floor and Pro costs 44%. If you're above 3,000 MAU and you use unlimited content and seats, Jimo's single plan is good value and I'd stay. Either way, do the math at your real MAU on the live pricing pages, and budget time to rebuild your tours, because they won't export.

Start your 14-day free trial, or book a demo and we'll map your existing Jimo guides to Product Fruits before you commit to anything. Full plan details are on our pricing page.
